A project that spawned from a film school assignment and a love for horror, it features the directorial debut from Janice Fong. Sophia Santulli is electro-rock frontwoman and composer Prize. Shortly before earning her Master of Music at San Francisco Conservatory, she wrote the song Terror Machine, released on The Split EP. With Terror Machine, Prize "conjured visions of a hybrid zombie vampire, created and trapped by the binding claws of the antiseptic, fear-mongering public world." Whether traversing ethereal heights or unleashing an earthly growl, Prize's raw, operatic voice is technically sparkling and her "emotional urgency makes for a thrilling live show" (Jon Bennett, MVRemix). Prize arranges her brand of electro-orchestral folkpunk for violin, cello, synth, drums, and guitar, and her live shows are theatrical and moody, replete with custom made black-and-white costumes and special effects.
